I have been wondering for quite a long time the importance of JR in comparison to JS when it regards to 3pt %. Which one is more important if you had to distribute a random amount of skill points.

For example, which player do you believe will have better 3pt %:
Player A: JS 8 JR 14
Player B: JS 11 JR 11
Player C: JS 14 JR 8

What would be the perfect distribution of this 22 SP? Mi guess is that player C would have the best percentages.

What are your thoughts?

Which league? Which position?

I have two trainees and they played at SF last season. (3. div)

Player A: 13-14
Player B: 11-16

Both have the same sum, played the same games against the same opponents.

Player A had 36,4% and Player B 34,1% last season. So no big difference.

In Utopia I have three guads/SF with JS=JR and all three of them were at 34-38% last season. (2.div)

In my opinion, JS and JR are both equaly needed for 3-pointers. JS is like the technic and JR the power.

I'd concur with Nachtmahr, which of course should be the default position in any event. I've had some lopsided players on the JS/JR curve in both directions, including a 9JS/19JR guy, and both extremes seem to be fairly unimpressive from beyond the arc. I've also got some guys who have more JR than JS but not an excessive amount (15/18, 14/18, 14/17) and they tend to shoot pretty well from beyond the arc against decent but not toplevel competition, to the point where my team is better from three than from two, though the shot distribution of course doesn't change because #reasons.

Based on what I've had in the past, I kind of like the JR a couple of points higher than JS, but realistically the only answer to "do I need more JR or more JS to hit more threes?" is "Yes."
