You should be able to set 2 different default lineups based on whether the game "matters" or not.

I was also thinking of this. For example if league match you can just choose "league match" from a list of preset lineups, but still be able fix gamed focus, etc, but the lineup would set right away without you having to pick. Would be really helpful for teams that are trying to give 48 mins to multiple players in 1 week. Instead of having to set a new lineup or to recall from "former matches" you can just choose from one of your preset lineups!!

I would love having 3 lineups. You could set up for different training positions, and change from one of the presets. For those that does not have as much time on their hands, this could help keep them in the game, even if/when motivation are low or things happen in life. Then it is good to ease up on some things that take time for a while, without leaving everything behind.

Well, this already "exists". If you go to previous games, you can choose one of them. After the first week, you can set all the season of official matches with the lineup of previous week. Example: Saturday game assigned to all Saturdays of the season, the same for Tuesdays. The only trouble is that for cup/scrimmages, you need to choose it every week.

Not the best solution in my mind. So much work, and limited flexibility. So much more work when you get new players, different training positions, injuries, etc etc.

Having more preset line-ups, enables you to run different tactics, training. You could alter the preset when you choose it for a game. Now when you load an old game, you have to remember which game you are looking for. It is not so many games to chose from either. So what happens if you have run the same setup for a while. Even if one way to do it already exist, it has much room for improvement.
