Hi, can anyone explain how the DMI works?

According to buzzermanager it dropped from 350000 to 200000 in one week. I had two players with full minutes and one that received 41 minutes (if I remember correctly). One position (it was passing or pressure) training. Is this a bug, so training did not run, or have I done something wrong?

These are the matches:
(94764425)
(95770491)
(95800306)

Thanks for the answers. I thought it had something to do with training.

I have 8xStrong and 4 Proficient GS this week (never trained Game Shape), so I still think it is strange that it suddenly dropped. I will see how next week influences the Game Shapes and DMI.

to add to what Perpete is saying between GS=7.00 and GS=9(Maximum, no decimals) you have a ratio of 3 (or 3.3 i don't remember exactly). So GS has a great impact on the DMI.

But does the DMI matter? What is it for? Is it just a measurement of the game shape or does it have impact on training or anything else?

When I compare the game shape chart against the DMI, there are no obvious similarities (except that both generally has a positive progression - but I am not that many seasons in with my current team, and all active teams improve in the beginning, so it does not mean causation).

I invite you to read at least one forum thread, which after some research is saying that:

DMI=100*int(VirtualSalary^(1/SalaryDeflator)*(0.1+0.76*exp(-1.13567746*(9-GameShape))+0.015780656*GameShape^0.9)*(1-0.035*(10-Stamina))*(1+0.018*(Freethrow-1))/10)

The original message that explains it all better than I ever will (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...)

DMI has no impact on training that I know of.

DMI is a way of reading the game and is the result of other parameters, and as such you already have information about it.

DMI is function of Actual Salary (with training or drop) and Gameshape, and as such you already have these informations for most of the players. But it can help guess the actual salary.

For example when you are trainning a close to cap trainnee you might see if the DMI is increasing normally at Game shape 9 to see if it has hit the cap or not.

However as the gameshape has a huge impact on DMI formulae, you can only read a DMI at a GS 9 value.

Saying that DMI has no impact on a player performance is false, as gameshape does and DMI reflects gameshape. But the true reason of the performance is Gameshape.
