There is the BuzzerBeater best competition as a world competition.
Why not having a second division with finalists, and a third with semi-finalists? The winner (and finalists?) of each competition receiving a ticket for the higher division (even more depending on domestic results, but not less even if domestics results are bad).
I mean, in Europe basketball there is EuroLeague, Eurocup, Fiba Champions League, Fiba Europe Cup (in this order? I am not so sure but this not the debate here ^^)
When I am looking at the rewards in Ireland (I am a new gamer since one season) for example trophies are divided since 13 seasons on three teams (and one of the three received only one trophy), so I think a second and even a third World Cup (or maybe continental cup? I don't know what's best), would train the other teams to the highest world level and promote a higher competition inside domestic leagues.
