Seems pretty normal to me, fans lose players they know/love and get new players in the place they never even heard off.
You can't expect them to just go out and buy merch from these new guys.

If i look at all the transfers you made in the last month i'm actually surprised you only got a drop now.
Maybe you should take a look at your fan survey and see how the fans rated the team this season.

When other people give reasonable and sufficient answers I tend not to get involved. Since you asked for our opinion directly, I have to say, no surprise here, that I agree with the arguments put by others. Transfers can affect merchandising a lot and this should be nothing new for a seasoned veteran as yourself.
