Does anybody in higher leagues play an outside kind of offense a majority of the time and have success with it? Seems like everyone is using inside tactics. Just curious.

Awesome! Any advice on how to make it work effectively in terms of training and what sort of guys you look for on the transfer market?

I ask because in real life, the effectiveness of a high usage three-point shooting team in terms of effective field goals and what not is a great offense (golden state warriors) so I'm curious how that translates here. For instance, I would assume you need obviously great jump shot and jump range, great passing, but perhaps you don't want driving or inside shot as high for most guys on your team.

I'm probably overthinking it, but appreciate any feedback.

Simple. Every player on my team can shoot the ball or drive it inside. With more or less skill of course. The surprise effect is more effective than a team focused on one and only offense, even if they're great at it.

Which sums it up perfectly. The only effective outside offense is an inside offense.

For your primary scorers, of course you'll want shooting and range... I aim for about a 3:2 JS:JR Ratio. You need a bit of passing but not as much as you'll find on those LI guards. It's not as necessary and it gets really expensive. Same for OD, I wouldnt get any more than 17... or mayyyybe 18 if you're at the top level in a competitive country.

It's very important to have solid JS/Passing on your bigs too though. I actually pick my bigs based on their secondaries, of which I consider JS/OD/Passing to be the Key 3 (in addition to ID/Reb which are the biggest components of an outside O Big).

The key is just finding efficient builds that don't waste salary in areas that aren't useful to what you're trying to achieve.

Oh and for all these people saying outside O's don't work, ask what kind of results the carbon copy LI's have produced.
