How do you read the draft box score? Do you feel it helps you know more about the player? What does PF's tell you in the box score for a draftee?

I've seen guys with a high number of assists end up with awful passing, etc etc. So, I just thought I would start a thread where we can all share what we know.

Here is an example of why I have no clue how to read it.

I have a draftee with 5 ball skills, 4 potential.

Box score:
1-8 FG
0-2 3's
0-0 FT
2 RB
3 Asst
4 TOs
1 steal
0 blk

So, what exactly is he a 5 ball skill in? Turnovers?

You simply couldn't necessarily translate a big or a poor night in a game to his overall level. Ball skills and box scores are just a first look, as happen during other BB's games where sometimes your best player will play an anonymous game or an average one will explode for a big performance. Ball skills are well connected with the salary of the player, however a player earning 3,5k isn't necessarily better than someone earning 2,8k.

Of course you could make suggestions. Maybe he could be a valuable defender first of all.
But it's hard to put too much faith in boxscore. If you're really high on drafting, discovering at least some skills with proper trainings could be useful to have some certainties.
