What will happen if I put no player into starters but just one in backup like so:

Payer 1 Player 2 Player 2
Player 3 Player 4 Player 4
Player 5 Player 6 Player 6
Player 7 Player 8 Player 8
X.............Player 9 Player 9

Does player 9 play full game or he is replacement for unknown player?

Because I am aming for optimal playing minutes for game shape. I don't have any player left whom I could give 40minutes. And if this player plays whole game it will have around 90 minutes and this in not good for game shape.

@ NO-15 Thanks, but it will be too late for me

Yeah but described like that it's hard obtain what you want with a single blank spot.

If your Cs are relatively similar (or at least the better has lower stamina and is not too stronger) blank the entire position could help you balancing minutes a little bit more. But without knowing the skills it could be a definitely risky.

Hopefully you'll be able to go in the garbage time at the end of the 3rd, giving 26-28 minutes to the starters and 22-20 minutes to bench players. Otherwise in friendly games it's pretty unusual to see 40+ minutes if you are not trying to give them 48
