There were actually 3 players I had set up to play the full 48 minutes here including the one I wanted to train this week. 7 players dressed, no injuries, no foulouts... and all three get subbed out. Once again the coach completely went off script, including but not limited to subbing the starting PF in at PG.

Every argument I can possibly make about this bug has already been made, so I'll keep this short. The coach is subserviant to me and hence should act like it, especially since they are just lines of code in a program. If they aren't acting in accordance with the parameters set by the end user, that can only be described as a bug and not a feature.

We either need more obident coaches or a new match engine entirely, because even if it is a feature it makes no sense to require 48 minutes for optimal training then make the easiest way to get 48 minutes a crapshoot.

You must fill all the gaps when putting up lineup. And better not put more than 8 players. I bet you didn't fill up all table.

I made sure to cover all of my bases before posting this time after my last attempt to whinge about this was undermined by an unnoticed foul out;

Hm. Everything seems fine. I never had this problem if I didnt put more than 8 players in to tactics. Of course, winning by huge margin did you bear service, but still, if you put 7 players, all gaps filled, never a problem. You didnt put foul trouble on?

Don't win with such a huge point difference. With the diff >20 the trainer substitutes players for minute or two. The GDP was unnecessary and contra productive.

And that somehow makes it okay for a bug to exist in the match engine for... however many seasons it's been now? I gave a computer program clear orders to follow and they weren't, the margin should matter not.

I actually had a bad one yesterday too (108475909). Dressed 7, starting C injured after 1 minute so only 1 sub. With 4:35 left, my starting SG (actually a decent PF) is on the bench. His backup is a 19 TSP scrub, who is playing at SG. The backup C (who is playing the full game due to the injury) is a 10 TSP scrub with 2 stamina and plays at C. He gets fouled, so can't be subbed. Coach brings in the starting SG who's on the bench, at PF where my 51 TSP (1 stamina admittedly) trainee is set to play 48 minutes. Not at SG where he's supposed to play and a weaker player is playing than my trainee at PF, and not at C where the worst player is playing (because he's shooting FT's, even though you could sub him after the 2nd make).

Though I understand why this happens with the current functionality, it's very unwanted behaviour indeed. Yes, there are workarounds but they have big drawbacks. It just shouldn't need to happen.

After all the time it's present and generally known on BB, it's rather a feature than a bug;-)

Actually a great training facility
Same here, can't say how many threads have I've opened like this. Last week my trainee got subbed out with 1:04 left on the clock, 1 minute shy of 48.

It's definately a bug, everyone just got so used to it and noone seems to care.

Still, you lose just 10-20 percent(I don't remember correctly) of maximum training, so it's not such a big deal.

I wonder if stamina could be the problem? It's pretty late now so I wouldn't really dig through my games in the past. But iirc I had plenty of games where I set orders for a few players to play for 48 minutes and none of them got subbed with the substitutes of other positions, even when I win big. Granted, I have always ran patient because I don't want my players to be subbed due to stamina issues.

Not sure if my latest match is a good example since I just dressed 6 players, but everything went accoding to plan despite wining by 55 points: (108668648)
