I have always trained players so I have played strictly follow depth chart forever.
As most of you know it plays like this:
Unless your players have bad stamina, players will play too many minutes unless you get ahead by 20 before or during the 4th quarter.
Your single position trainees will play 48 minutes unless your lead is too big.

Please tell me how to use players in the other substitution modes to get players 60-68 minutes
Assuming you don't need a trainee to play 48

CPfDC will make minute split more skewed towards the better players (and also give you better ratings). This means if they start they will get even more minutes than in strictly, but if they are backups they also will. You can even get splits like 18-30 (30 going to the backup) in competitive games.

There is only one issue: if you do this and the difference is too big, you'll get a bug where the backup will start the game instead. As far as I know this the ONLY way to have a player play 48 minutes with a lineup of 10 players and garbage time (because the backup player, who is a bugged starter, will also play garbage time like a regular backup).

The whole idea is to manage minutes so they can play twice and get good enough minutes for game shape.
If I play them in a back up role I will lose the game
Great players don't start every other game

There is no way around it: if your team is top heavy there is no way to avoid high minutes unless you get garbage time at least once. Get the psychologist, a massage doctor, play strictly and off you go.

Great players don't start every other game
Exceptional players with shit conditioning can't play 30 minutes a night either...

Get backups with high ST and if you are adventurous (or have private league games) check what splits you get by starting the backups and using CPfDC
