Let's take a very short player. We train pressure.
He will improve OD very fast because he is very short.

But, what about ID?
a) Will he improve ID faster than a tall player because he trains pressure faster?
b) Will he improve ID slower than a tall player because he is very short?
c) None of the above because height doesn't affect secondary training?

according to the data collected by the US community, the shorter improves in ID faster than a taller player through pressure training. To be exact:

18 yo-183 cm pressure training

0.56 OD - 0.08 HN - 0.07 DR - 0.13 ID

18 yo- 229 cm pressure training

0.33 OD - 0.04 HN - 0.01 DR - 0.04 ID.

The old us data collection site was amazing. Lots of info. However you need to take into account that it collected all possible data that users provided, thus the data was not handpicked to compare training on similar skillets.

My not so wild guess would be that 229cm players already had high levels in ID, so negative elastics played a big part in this .33/.04 ratio. On the other hand 183cm guys most probably had a lot more OD than ID, thus positive elastics contributed heavily to the .56/.13 ratio.

How can you access the old US data Collection? when you are not US community member? can you share it with us? coz Training Simulator Coef doesn't agree with these arguments...

it may be because you are looking at the wrong type of training.

yeah... Interesting... you are right... Do you think is it because Tall men take ID Training first before OD in these cases before they record this?

it can be as mink0ff said: the power of elastics.

CP tends to disagree however (don't mind the actual values, they might not be spot on):

and my personal observations are that there is a definite link between the two (I'm not saying that I'm necessarily correct). How did you guys conclude that there is no elastic effect there? Solely based on the data collected or was there something else?

I believe (and so does CP) that elastics do not care what type of training is used to improve a skill, just about the levels comparison with its elastically bound other skills. In other words you can use several types of training to improve IS but no matter which one you use the elastics will always be the same.

Also every type of training will be affected by elastics in a different manner for the various skills it improves (and it does makes sense being so).
