Hi everyone. I assume that 23zone has been adjusted as well as box and one defenses but hasnt been discussed here. I would like to know your opinions on it now.
Until today it was useless tactic mostly becose of number of open shots it produced for opponent. So even if it pushed oppponents shot rate to "guards", bigs still had plenty inside shots - open ones (easy). So its only benefit was rebounds boost.
Now, it seems that number of open shots has been greatly reduced so it looks like a working thing (at least against against iniside teams).
BUT, what i dont like about it (in my final game) is:
(119535118)1) even though my opponent played 2-3zone and i played motion my guards were terrible outside scorers. PG 3/14; SG 3/11.. Lets see the stats:
myPG ag oppPG 2/3 (looks good here even myJR>hisOD) myPG is +42 TSP!
myPG ag oppSF 1/5 (myJS vs oppOD = +2; myJR vs oppOD = -2) myPG is +23TSP!
myPG ag oppC 0/1 (blocked while my IS vs oppID =+2, vs oppSB=+9) myPG is +32 TSP!
myPG open shots 0/5!
mySG ag oppPG 0/2 (myJS vs oppOD = +5; myJR vs oppOD = -1) +32TSP!
mySG ag oppSF 1/1 (myJS vs oppOD = +6; myJR vs oppOD = 0) +13TSP
mySG ag oppPF 1/1 (myJS vs oppOD = +10; myJR vs oppOD =+4) +22TSP
mySG open shots 0/6!
My enthusiasm is same, our attitude was same. I played away POCT.
It is just one game but i would expect much higher efficiency to my guards. They are different galaxy players to compare to opponent ones.
So my question is - isnt 23zone suddenly overrated? Not to compare to previous shi*y one but generally? How about those open shots. Are we still there? When open shots are going to be adjusted?
Any opinions are welcome.
PS:I would like to have all tactical options at pretty same level (all zones working good).
