Anecdotally, I've noticed that while IB+1 produces a superior perimeter defense rating than a 2-3 zone, I trust my guys to perform up to their rating more when they're playing 2-3 zone.

I get the impression IB+1 lets role players I'd usually shut down easily have efficient games (not necessarily BIG games) and it's more of a toss-up whether their outside players will shoot well from 3.

It could also be a personnel thing -- when I play 2-3 zone at least one of my forward defenders is also a strong perimeter defender and the same can't always be said of my interior defenders in the IB.

Regardless, with my current team I tend to use IB if I think my defense is superior enough across the board except for a monster scorer who moves around the lineup.

Inside box and one , dont let the name fool you , it is a "perimeter" focused defense

The defender with the highest sum of OD+ID+SB defends against the best shooter of the opposing team and gets help from the other 4 guys.

OB+1 I suspect it is the exact opposite although I have never tested it.

The calculation for the ‘best’ defender in the box and 1 is weighted to the focus of the box. So if you play inside box and 1, ID and SB are weighted more than OD to find the best inside defender.

I don’t know the exact formula for it but that is what BB-Justin has told me last season. That is when he realised the boxes worked the wrong way round and it was changed during the off-season this season.

If the tactics being "enhanced" means they were updated to reflect the description in the guide, that's more than a little misleading description of the change.

But it would also mean the effects I have observed recently make sense.

Actually a great training facility
I was a fan of the defence for a while, only one thing noticed:

The one player sticks to opposing teams scorer (in my games ussually PG) and completely doesn't care that SG sinks in casual 40pts. On the other hand, the defence seems to work as intended, the best guy gets smothered, and others play like 2-3 zone (seems like the closest examples)

Will try to use more as my PG gets paid 1/3 what my team does.

My understanding was always the best offense player is calculated at the start of the game. The +1 will defend him, no matter what happens. So another player will step up as Option 1. A SG or a SF can score than 40 points or so. There is no adjustment to the new threat.
It's like saying "we will stop the biggest offense threat and let the other do what they want".
