from Game Manual:
"The revenue from ticket sales to playoff and relegation games is split in half between the home team and the visitors."

Why is this even here? The team with the bigger arena basically gets a penalty.

I believe it is there so that the away team can stay afloat financially through the playoff weeks. If they do not get any revenue from the games, many #3 or #4 seeds would have no arena income for two straight weeks.

Also giving some top seeded teams 4 home games with full revenue through two weeks would be pretty over-powered as well. Making it half and half just rightfully balances things out.

Every team gets 11 home and 11 away games in the league season. That’s not the case for the playoffs.

Yes having weeks with no income affects cash flow, but that’s part of the game you need to manage for. I’ve had no home game this week and I’m fine with that because I will have had a week with two home games.

You lose money on the weeks with no home games, but then you get double to money when you have 2.

Plus I’m pretty sure when NBA teams have long away trips where they’ll play 5+ whatever games away in a row that they have to manage their finances. Buzzerbeater isn’t just about competing on court, it’s about managing a full basketball club, financially and performance.
