hello
do you prefer:
1) a 19yo with 5 stars rating and 5 stars potential or a 18yo with 4 stars rating and 5 stars potential?

2) a 19yo with 4 stars rating and 5 stars potential or a 18yo with 5 stars rating and 4 stars potential?

thanks in advance

For me it would depend on any other information you might have, such as height, position, box score. Without any further information, probably the 19y, but I'd be happy with either.

Most likely the 19y, potential is king.
The only reason I might choose the 18y is if I wanted a chance at drafting an U21 player. But in that case I'd probably draft the 19y to sell, and buy an 18y with a good chance at the U21 instead.

Do 5 stars for 19y relate to higher skills than 18y? Wouldn't grades be the determining factor in the first case? The difference between B+ and A- is rather small while B- and A+ is an entirely different story.

P.s. I would like it if you did an up-to-date video on the draft. New managers have time to learn about tactic, not that much about the draft since you're in the best position right at the start.

The skill rating only determines the player's salary. That means, if that player has an A+ rating, it might be because he only has high ratings for a few skills that affect the salary more than others (usually Big Man skills like ID, RB etc.).

Grade-Rating / min - max - Salary
A+ / 4500 - 6000
A / 4200 - 4500
A- / 3900 - 4200
B+ / 3600 - 3900
B / 3300 - 3600
B- / 2900 - 3300
C+ (opinion) / 2600 - 2900
C (opinion) / 2300 - 2600
C- (opinion) / 1 - 2300

It's always a risk and you never know unless you spend a lot of scouting points on one player. I've had a few A+ guards in the past that just had way too high Rebounding/ID for their height, therefore resulting in much lower ratings for their primary skills.

Thanks.

So I have this A grade SG with big man height. with the following stat line:

20 MIN, 3-6 FG, 0-1 3FG, 2-3 FT, 0 OR, 1 TR, 1 AST, 1 TO, 1 STL, 2 BLK, 4 PF, 8 PTS

I spent quite a few hours playing with salary estimator and came up with the following:

Decent but not great JS (depends on ID since he's not SF)
Good or great JR and OD (high grade SG and low RB despite missing his 3FG and only 1 STL)
Decent handling (only 1 TO)
average DR (not that many shots taken)
below average AST (only 1 AST)
decent IS (60% 2FG)
Probably bad ID ( not SF and 4 PF)
bad RB (only 1 but if he played at SG than it's not that bad)
decent BLK
bad stamina (who cares?)
decent FT

Can anyone tell me which of my assumptions are completely of? and how bad is potential hole at ID for a PF/C player?

P.s. And I'm sorry for high jacking the thread.

It can be a pain to train someone like this...

I guess. He's both aggressive (high fouls drawn %) as well as potential black hole at ID. Than again he's the only 5 ball potential player I found so far.

Also I pretty confident there are some major flaws in my assumptions of his skillset so we'll see...
