yes.
but not that often.

If say the opposing center takes a 3 point shot, your center's outside defence will also go in the calculation to see if he scores or not...
Appart from that there are many other factors in the calculation like the team defence which is taken from the outside D of your guards (and not from your center).
hope this helps

are you sure the outside of the c have no effet on the rating? I could think he got an small impact, and he use it more often in midrange jumpshot then at 3 Pointers.

+ he gets steals with it.

in the rules it says what is important for the ratings, for instance outside defence: both guards weighed heavely, C is not mentioned there, so I don't think he adds...

It is not entirely clear which players add exactly how much, so I won't tell 100% for sure though.

I also thought that any 2 pointer would require inside defense to stop it, and 3-point shots outside defense. Could be wrong on this though... It might be that there are different combinations of defense for different types of shotdistance. Anyone who has a clear and solid view on this without guessing, as it is in BB, and not in real basketball ?

if just inside d is important for 2 pointers, i wonder that opponents guards don't hits every shot against me - cause a lot of guards got inside shot.

well.. that is because the formulas take many more factors than just 1.
your guard's inside def might be low, but your inner players inside defense might be high enough, and their inside D goes into the team rating, and the team rating goes into the formula... (and many more other factors, your defending guard's inside defense is just a small factor in the total equasion, but it is a factor indeed)

i think the one on one comparision is pretty important, because in the past where i got osome pretty bad defenders their "opponent" often runs hot, even if i win the comparison in the ratings. And good jumpshot/jumprange players also hit, good from inside even without inside shot.

maybe it's not 100% the topic, but i heard in the german forum that one BB made an statement to insideshot(that that was just layups and for near distance jumpshot they mixed it up with the jumpskills). Maybe someone knows this posting, else i could be just his theorie(ewwhich doesn't sound so bad).
