As someone with an “exceptional” trainer I feel like they are underperforming immensely. 11 weeks now, with only 22 pops. To put this into comparison, my “superior” trainer in the prior 17 weeks had created 41 pops. Now of course the time comparisons are different, so maybe I should wait another 6 weeks for a better picture, but these are not the results one would expect.

Is an exceptional trainer really needed if you are not training HOF potential young players? Any thoughts?

Your thinking is correct, if you're just training "normal" players (generally players lower than MVP potential) then a level 4 trainer is likely the best one for the job. High-level trainers can be good for getting a few extra pops by the end of their career for a NT/HOF guy, but your average trainee is not going to benefit nearly enough for the cost.

If your trainer still has a fairly low salary then there's no harm keeping him for a bit longer, but if he's getting expensive (perhaps $60-70k weekly salary) then you could fire him and hire a cheaper one.

Ok thanks for the response! Only costing me 45k weekly right now, so still manageable, but I would except to see atleast 1 pop minimum a week for that level, even it’s only perennial all start and superstar trainees.

No problem! I haven't looked at the exact difference but I think you can expect something like 1 extra pop / season if the player is young.

With an 18 year old and the best trainers you will likely see a pop most weeks, but not every single week. Maybe if training something like 1v1F where there are four possible skills that could pop.
