There are people criticizing that BBM is not supporting their economy at all, which is supposed to be one of the goals of this competition.
Counter-Intuitive Suggestion: Loser gets money in group stage ONLY (e.g. winner gets $20000, loser is given $10000), while rest of the competition setup remains unchanged.
If you want to win the game, then go for it. Rest of the prize money remains unchanged, so you still benefit more if you go further in the game.
If your team setup is weak, you benefit from participating in the competition as free bucks were given.

Even more crazy: Loser gets MORE money in group stage ONLY (e.g. winner gets $10000, loser is given $20000 instead)
