Hi
I wonder wich caracteristics (IS ID or SB) are creating more elastic effect and needs to be train first.
I asked top training coach in france and nobody agrees đŸ˜‚

I know there are datas (here for example : https://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thread=307729&m=7) that say IS is towed by DI at 0,001 and DI by IS at 0,020. So it seems logical to begin with IS...

But... (and it's a big but) a lot of good managers were very skeptical about the 0,001 factor. How could we find a factor that small? Some other (old ones, sorry Gpolin <3 if you are reading me) told me they never saw any difference.

If you have any experience return on SB first i am curious to hear about it.
Thanks for reading me.

This is not direct reply to your question, but I would say that most efficient option is to train IS+ID+RB or ID+SB+RB. So if you train all four inside skills, that player will have high salary and/or quite mediocre skills. Therefore, I would make the decision to leave IS or SB without any training.

Then, what is the best skill to be trained first, depends on your build. If you want to train high IS, then I would start with IS training to avoid SB pops. If you want high SB but low IS, I would start with SB to avoid IS pops. However, I think ID is usually the best starting point if you don't worry about the occasional IS or SB pops that much.

from an old spanish spreadsheet, and from what i read a long time ago here and there, training SB is 33% better, +0.980, in value than training ID,0.74 for example or Rbd 0.61 or IS 0.74. Thus, if you want your player to have a high SB you should train SB first.

As for the best elastic effect, i've never read about skills having a different elastic effect. The elastic effect does not depend on the skill but on the value of the skill. The quicker you up the better, but you must keep you skills in line with the archetype you aim for.

I see that i was not clear enough, sorry :
I am curious about a fictive player who has the same level in both IS ID SB, let's say 7 and wants 18/18/12.

Both thanks for your answer

I would say that it doesn't really matter if you start with IS or ID as the SB is lowest but still required to be 12. But I would start with either IS or ID, not SB. Both training programs should take about 3-3,5 seasons for 18yo trainee to get to the 18/18/12. Difference is that is you start with ID training, you will have SB 10-11 after you move to IS, but if you start with IS, your JS will be 3-4 points higher and SB only gets cross-training pops.

True. Also if you start with SB, ID will receive a lot of secondary training. I have several big trainees this season and the ratio is 2:1 or 2,5:1 for SB:ID.
The gap between SB and ID is not increasing as fast as with other trainings. And if you train RB after SB, it could even be, that you don't need any ID training anymore.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for all your answer.
To clarify, are you saying that every 2 ups in SB you have one in ID ?

I would rather say it’s 3:1.

At some point yes. My trainees are up to 221cm tall. Smaller players have a different ratio. Like 3:1
