The Buckner Bandits had a over performing year last year, we made it to the playoffs and continued to do our 2 position inside forward training. This year we are going to focus on our guards as well as some split time with 1on1 forward training for our draftees.
We lucked out in the draft, with only spending 16 points or so, the Bandits ended up with a solid group. We did not go indepth on the order of the scouting because we were planning on waiting a few years to restart the process, but with this core, we may have altered the timetable.
With the first round pick, (15th) we chose guard Kevin Moore. - Kevin will be part of our main rotation so we get him all the training minutes. He has perennial allstar potential with solid skills starting out. He will be a great addition for depth for us.
With the second round pick, (31st) we snagged Lian Tingjan. - Liang is a great prospect for the Bandits. He is 18, at a good height for training guards and has some nice starting skills. His potential of Superstar is intriguing. He will be a fun project. Liang will get solid game time minutes with the second team.
With their final pick in the third round, (47th) the Bandits drew forward Edwin Long. Ed unfortunatly will not be getting much if any training but at 19 with some solid skills, he will be a very serviceable backup to the inside starters.
The Buckner Bandits increased their arena last season and got themselves close to the level 4 average. Our goal this season is to continue to save money and shoot for the 4M arena. Then continue to expand the arena and keep a solid staff.
As we all know, things change, but one thing that will not change, is that your Buckner Bandits will continue to be a home grown team and build on our talent we draft.
Best of luck to the other teams in League IV 26. Its going to be a fun season!
