Welcome to the new teams in League III.7 and welcome back teams from last season. Unfortunately the manager who kept us all up to date with his various posts the past two seasons is no longer with us. So hopefully someone will want to take the lead and try to keep the rest of us involved in some message board give and take. Maybe Slash or Archers, who both had a lot of good post, will consider doing it since the distraction might take their attention away from winning games against me. Whatever happens with the forum, good luck to all in the coming season.

I didn't have time to do proper research for a prediction this season, so I'll just wing it

Big 8

This conference is loaded, and is going to be hard to predict. Looking at the top 8 salaries for each team in the league, 7 of the top 9 from the Big 8. I suspect that alot of beating up on each other and this looks to be a season of salary attrition. Poor results early could cause some managers to yield, or perhaps for the salaries to ratchet even higher. 5 (!) teams currently have salaries over 300k which is enough for me to describe them as all in.

1. Missouri City Sounders - It's hard to pick against a demoting team that isn't tanking.
2. Archers of Loafcross - They would have been the second seed last season were it not for a G22 loss last season.
3. Hasting Hornets - With the purchase of Milenkoski, this looks to be a balanced starting 5 that is difficult to deal with.
4. Cyborgs - Those 20 year olds will be blossom right at playoff time and will make them punch over their salary weight.
5. Dark Matter - The one year delay on skills decreasing could be a huge deal for this team. Them finishing outside of top 4 is crazy, just speaks to the depth of this league.
6. Slashing Dragons - A little insider knowledge here, but I could see my team taking a step back this season.
7. SKILLZ THAT KILLZ - A little too top heavy with Medina, but could still seem them as a playoff team as well.
8. Amen Gospel - This soon to be bot will be the shelter in the storm in the Big 8.

Great 8

This looks to be Rashmonsters and then everyone else. 3 other teams will have to make the playoffs, and part of this will be which teams decides to start spending in the right situations. Any team making the playoffs though will most likely just earn themselves the right to lose to Rashmonsters.

1. Rashmonsters - Barring catasrophe striking, they are the run away favorites
2. Drunken Sconnies - After finishing 2nd both of the last two season, they just don't have enough firepower to catch Rashmonsters this season.
3. Evergreen Xenos - The deep cup run last season hurt their league standings, but this seems like a team that is playing for next season, otherwise I'd consider putting them in 2nd.
4. Banahorns - Experience alone makes it hard to count them out. I think they will cost by and do enough to make the playoffs.
5. TheGoats - Needs more depth to compete over the long season, but if they make the right improvements, they could sneak into a playoff spot.
6. Slabs - After 2 last minute logins last season to avoid going bot, I suspect more of the same. Coasting along with default lineups and the coach barely steering the ship.
7. Devnasty's - Just needs more talent which takes money, and that's hard to acquire as such a new team.
8. Trash Talkers - Same story as Devnasty's, could finish higher depending on which decides to spend the more

Thanks coach. You may have us a bit high. My trainee got injured in the first scrim so it's not looking great.

Very nice for a winging it Slash! And, like Arch, I’m thinking you placing your team at 6 is a bit of a sand bag! But you are right about the Sounders…they look formidable. Now please stay distracted.😆

I'm finally back in the green! Not sure how everyone else manages so high of salary on a weekly basis. Must just be my tiny arena holding me back.

Updated salary numbers after 3 games has 6 teams over 300k salary, with 5 on the blue side, 5 between 250k and 300k, and then 5 teams under 250k, 4 of those on the red side.

Still very blue heavy, will be interesting to see if anyone else decides it's worth cutting back.

I'm not in the green yet lol. I probably missed a win not hitting Slabs with a gdp. Might of given Drunken Sconies one when I got cute and sat McWizard to keep his 40 ppg average longer. But I think I can get to 4-3 before facing the big blue wall. I'll be happy to make the playoffs and get the 7th pick again. Hyman is gonna be a monster. But my trainees will be nearing 110 tsp by playoff time. If a window opens I'll jump through it. Next season it'll be urgent for sure.

Big Blue Wall, I like it! There are probably gaps in the wall, despite the high salaries, just have to pick the right spots.

A window always just seems 1 injury away, on both sides. That's why I like training guards instead of bigs, the slower salary increase feels like it gives you more time to search for that window.
