I'm not able to bid on any players and was wondering if I'm transfer banned.

I guess the reason is there are 29 players in your team and you made a bid for another player.
The S37 news (223143.54) said,
Seeing this, the BB commissioner has decided to limit the maximum number of players in a roster to 30 (if you have more, you will not be forced to sell or fire them, but will be unable to acquire more until you do). We will never see such an original attempt at BB levity again… Or will we? Nevermind, history has been made and BB must move on
