Hello everybody!
I am trying to understand a bit more how enthusiasm works. I got the basics down, yet now I am very curious about what you also think about it. For example, do you try to make a general estimation, when preparing games, of how different levels of entusiasm and attitudes affect the game? For example, in the Guide to BuzzerBeater, written by RiP (thanks a lot), I read that a normal level 5 is approximately comparable to a take it easy level 8. Do you have any other reference points similar to the one of the example to guide yourself when preparing a game that help you understand how much your level of enthusiasm could benefit or disadvantage your team?
Thanks a lot for the help and for sharing your point of view on this very interesting topic!
Best regards,

Edo

P.s. I will add a pool for whoever would like to have a bit of fun with it.

In my observations:

If my team has ENT5 normal, they would play good but it feels really lacking
If my team has ENT7-9 TIE, they would play as well as ENT5 normal
If my team has ENT11-12 normal, they just exploded and the ratings are normally raised by 1-2 levels (from average to strong)

Thanks a lot, France!
What do you think about, let's say, an ENT5 normal against an ENT10 normal, for example? How much of an edge has the player with 10 in enthusiasm?
Thanks!

Edo

Thanks! That's very interesting, to see practically how enthusiasm affects the defensive ratings! Also, I didn't know that Game Shape affects offensive ratings, so thanks for that, too.
Cheers,

Edo

Enthusiasm mostly affect defensive ratings.

Wow! I never expected it, but a quick glance through my B3 matches and yes you're right! I played the same lineup for my B3 games, and the defensive rating was pretty constant (since they used the same enthusiasm since game 1) but the huge leap in offensive rating in the second game (before going constant) kinda proves that it mainly affects defense.

I also see an uptick in defense rating as my GS increase too, but much less when compared to the offensive ratings. I guess GS still affects defensive rating a bit, but the impact on offense is more apparent.

Play TIE in every game until the playoffs (and all the way until the finals if you can). You may start out with a loss or two, but your ratings will wear down most opponents.
