No topic yet about the new feature.
So, what do you think about the new Transfer Compare System?

i like it

Specially the following:

"
Bernard van der Linde is probably better than all 5 of these players, but the few that are most similar have been selling for $ 400 000 to $ 750 000."

This way, when no similar players are found, you at least get an idear of the minimum market value

Also its nice that all my players (ALL of them!!!) are compared. Hattricks compare system failes many times when i want to compare my players with earlies made transfers...Quite odd because BB has way less transfers to compare with..

Good job BB!

I think it's actually counter-productive.

It obviously is only meant to help new users, because more experienced ones don't need it (plus the best players are hard to find and so the transfer compare often says that it can't find any players similar to that one), but the variation in price is FAR greater among the mid-level players, which are the ones that newbies should be looking at, than in players that are worth around 2 million, which newbies won't have a chance at.

Basically it is very precise in very good players, for example my PF-C with 16k salary (between 1850k and 1950k), and very bad players, meaning everyone from 1k to 10k (which is obviously not very useful), and extremely imprecise in 4k-5k-6k level players, for example my 6k G-SF (between 100k and 750k) and my 18 year old 6k PF (between 600k and 1500k).

It's a noble effort by the BBs to help out new users, but really, in a game with so many parameters to consider (12 skills plus height, age, and potential), the only possible way to know the value of a player is from personal experience.

I'm sorry I don't like it at all. They've considered the level of the skill most important for the position in the field and following that level they've seen the previous transfer, without consider the secondary skills; that's why I've a player that is exstimate on a range between 20 and 700k. In the future there will be also the potential that will be take in consideration (now almost all players are still "all-star") but it will be not enough to estimate the price of a player. This is not hattrick where you've monoskill, BB is more "complicated" and for sure a software can't replace or can't estimate the price as we can. Of course this matter could help a bit the new manager but for sure I will never sell Datkovic for 800k and if I will sell him for 1,6m I don't want to risk a TPA because there is written that his price should be between 600 and 800k...

I think the idea is very good, but it should consider more skills and not underestimate players with all-star skill or doom players over the age of 30.

Edit: I think we need to give this system some time, in order to gather more transfer informations and hence produce more precise estimations.

completly not needed.

Why ?

The player is compared by one of his top skills and potential.
I have a player with price value between 100K and 1.6 mil
So how does a new player determine his value, ???? Between 100k and 1.6mil?

Well if it helps new managers...

Anyway I don't find it useful (for me) because:

1) some of my players are evaluated 1.6 - 1.8 (point guards with proficient almost in all their 6 major skills) while I have seen worst ones sold for 3 millions on the market recently
2)
Of these, the ones with skills most similar to Erotas Tsaousidis have been selling for around $ 200 000 to $ 1 850 000.

Anyway as I said, if this helps some managers why not... But I hope If one day I sell a player for much more than what he is estimated for, I will not have this extra money taken away! (since you are not supposed to bid over the market price!)

well, i do agree that it takes away some "uncertainty", which was quite nice for a transfer market... but if this system seriously wants to estimate prices, it must take more factors into account tbh.

plus that what johnny said.. penalties need some serious evidence.

AGREED

I really hope this doesnt promote the idea of training mono-skilled players and listing them for the top end of their estimate....

a) These are not the kind of players noobs need to be buying &
b) These are not the kind of players to encouraged to be trained.

On a starter I do have a valuation on he is 900k - 4mil..... and is supposedly better than 10 others with the same primary skill! How many 4mil + genuine transfers have there actually been?

I think it looks very professional on each players page BUT I will be taking the numbers with a very fine pinch of salt until a lot more data has entered the system (even then you cant factor in inflation/deflation, stage of the season week one 18yo vs week twelve etc.)

Noobs dont have large amounts of money to spend and some lower end players I have looked at give indications of 20k - 400k.... I cant see this helping.

Once you have played the game and have money to spend - you dont rush in to make your first 500k purchase. If you do then you have no grounds to complain if you later find out you over paid.

It is really bad at present , it need improve.
Age , First Skill , Potential is not enough , the estimate price is not accurate.

Please check following samples :

(4893261)

Comments:
There have been 37 recent transfers of 18 year old small forwards with respectable (7) jump shot and perennial allstar (7) potential. Of these, the ones with skills most similar to Pauli Pienim ki have been selling for around $ 300 000 to $ 3 050 000.

300,000 to 3 050 000.......same as no comments

Critical bunch here. Complex idea and it's far better than I expected.
