There is two outside defense tactics, but only one inside defense tactic. I would suggest you cuold make an another inside defense tactic.

I once suggested box-and-one, but that would be hard to code considering you wouldn't know who to assign to who as the "one".

Why can't you select certain players in order or a certain position for box and 1?

Because the coding is programmed 1vs1.

how bout adding more full court defebses like a diomand press

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.

Or maybe there could be a half-court defense and a full-court defense, and some control as to how much the full-court defense is used.

What do you mean with how much?

Something like getting the ball or just hindering the opponent guard so that they loose time to attack.Maybe a fall back defense was an alternativ like first a 2-1-2 Zone press and afters this an 3-2 Zone.

But probadly you had to kick out some of this ideas so that it ain't become that much complicated ;)

How about a normal 2-1-2 defense. It works well against both inside and outside defense and is the perfect zone for the base offense.

sure, but how would you suggest it actually affect the game engine? I suppose you could set it as normal defensive with a slower pace, but I don'r know why bother.

I guess it could also be used to hide a weak defender (which in my opinion is really the only good RL reason to use it) but that would be an unecessary complication at this point.

Maybe it could take away mid-range jumpshots, but if that is your concern an outside focused defense is better for you anyways, as it takes away both mid and long-range.

well first off 2-1-2 works well against both inside and outside and you don't lose as much on the rebounding as you do with 3-2. With 3-2 you have one layer far from the basket as in 2-1-2 you have one player in the middle of the lane. It is the first defense any zone team learns and is used in all leagues except for the NBA.

Also will make teams that are not good sooting teams to take 3's instead of mid range shots. I would have used it a few times instead of 3-2 and my team rebounding would have been better which gives me a better chance at winning.

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.

mhh i would say kingsize are right with the strength and weakens/strenghts of the 2-1-2 Zone ;)

3 pt shoots are are bit easier then against a Man to man defence, mid range Shot where defended pretty strong and to come under the basket you use often similiar plays like you use against a 2-3(which are a bit easier because the zone don't fall down so good when the ball is inside).

If you try to play an zone which prevent a good 3 pt shooting team you would take the 3-2 zone.
