I currently have a level 7 PR staffer, who I hired my first week here (two weeks ago). The PR staffer available this week is level 10, at a weekly wage $8,000 (47%) more than my current level 7.

I'm in the lower half of my conference (in 5th by virtue of not having as good of a PD as the team above me), but have several games upcoming against the less-good teams in my league, so I expect to be generating a fairly long winning streak.

Would upgrading to the level 10 PR staffer pay off? I'm certainly not in financial distress at this point, but I would like to keep some of my current reserve in case I find myself one or two players away from a serious playoff run later in the season.

If I do not hire the new PR staffer, my weekly expenses before arena revenues would be approximately $32,000 (though I am still currently getting the $50k weekly temporary income, so $82,000 in the red without that temporary income).

I'd be skeptical. I have a 7, and my merchandise income is only $4K over his salary. So it depends on how much added seat revenue he brings in.

i think for beginn a mid level pr manager is more useful, because the PR guy get a lot of his money back with the home games and there you ain't got those high potential(if it was an prozentual bonus like 1-2%)

In your place, I wouldn't hire a level 10 PR. Your current guy is probably good enough. How much is he earning in merchandise revenue every week? If he's not even covering his own wage, then it's really not worth the expense of firing him and adding on a new, bigger, harder to cover wage.

Yeah I'd like to downgrade my PR- guy (currently lvl 7) to save some cash, but I keep getting level 7's and level 10's to hire. I'd like to fire the guy and hire some chump off the street... which I could do in an instant in real life... but here I'm stuck waiting. How silly is that?!

if you are a manager and hire some stump off the street you get dismissed ;) Even not that good staff managers should be qualified, and those guys aren't lying on the street and waiting for a bad paid job.

Even dismissing staff and players aren't that easy, but this is an game not reality.

I disagree. I'd think many people would be willing to earn a few thousand dollars per week to sit on their rumps (which would be doing more then the Ben Wallace of PR managers). I'd do it myself!

Yeah but if you hire some idiots without the right qualification, you will sit yourself there because you get fired pretty fast ;)
