I suggest this version -
player is on a team for a long time
his records during a match are mostly one of best in compare to a whole team
usually play important role (he play more than 24 minutes on the average per match)
his potential is reached or almost reached and is one of the best in compare to a whole team
after every "millenium" - randomly selected after 10-15 seasons of club history will appear to every user (in correct english of course:)) the message:
"Your player "Franta Example" is most loved by your fans, they come more now for the matches where he plays, they also started to call him: " "..."
And between these " " will be a window where you can put his new nickname. You can also wait until you will think out some good or change that during a first month (to have it not unwillingly stupid). And this nick will stay with a player for the rest of his history.
If this player plays at your home stadium, the attendeance will be anyhow bigger for that match.
