I only joined recently but noticed many of my big men to be 6,0" or 6,1" while PG, SG and SFs seem more or less realistic heights.

Was this intended or are the many 6'0" and 6,1" etc. Centers and PFs meant to read 7,0" and 7,1" for example?

I also have a random 6,10" point guard so was wondering if that should read 5,10"? Not a single player is not 6 foot something!

Being in England I know my league is very new so maybe this is just an issue/bug with new leagues?

nah.. this is an old known problem, but not a bug.

Height is NOT considered when deciding the "Best Position" for your player (which by the way is just a suggestion). Also Height is NOT considered by the game engine, so feel free to put your 6'0'' centers on the court. (I feel really sad by saying this, but it's true)

Height is only considered on the traniing (ex: big guys will train rebounding or shot blocking faster, I guess)

I hope Height will gain more relevance in the future (I guess it has too, cause otherwise is useless all the other discussions involving the realism of the game...)

It was odd and first, but makes sense now and I actually kind of like it. Assuming the label given is pretty close to their best position, then gives an extra indicator on the player other than just their skillset.

actually i think this is a bit of where the confusion lies.. at the moment the players best position is calculated from the stats and isn't independant. Height is calculated independant of abilities, but abilities progress as a function of height. Charles and I have had a long discussion about this, and we have a better idea about how to do it.

Basically we wank dirk nowitski to be able to exist, but don't want 6'0 centers.... so we need some compromise solution.

I was one of the biggest defenders of the idea that height should matter in the games. But actually, I just convinced myself that the way things are is fine, we just need a better explanation.

if we consider that the effect of the guy's height is already included in his rebounding skill value (and the same for shot blocking, handling, etc) then everything ends up making sense.

example: this guy A is 6'4'' and B is 7'3'' and they both are rebounding respectable, and they both will have the same chance of getting the rebound. Height won't make it easier for B, because what A lacks in height he makes up in something else (like jumping or positioning), and in the end what matters is that they both have the same level of the skill rebounding.

i think this matches with everything you guys thought about height, and training, and everything else...

So I no longer think the game engine should be changed because of Height, based on this explanation.

oh i agree with that entirely... skills are the skills... i just think height needs to be modified a little bit when players are created to make sense for their skill set.

I agree...someone who is 5'9'' shouldn't be too good at rebounding for instance.
