when does a player become a free agent?

when his team owner lost his team, and he above an salary limit

If an owner does not log in for 6 weeks (42 days), his team will become a bot on the following Monday morning, local time. For example, on this Monday, teams with the last login on May 5 or earlier were converted to computer teams.

If there are any high-value players on these teams, they will become free agents.
Currently, it appears that the only players that become FA are those who have salaries over $10,000 or are on a NT.

The sales deadline is set 72 hours plus a random offset from the time the club team becomes a bot. This has the effect of players from New Zealand and Japan tending to have somewhat earlier deadlines from players in countries further west.

my next opponent just became a computer managed one but name is still the same. How are they gonna play against me? Are they gonna play, base offense, man to man or the same style they have been playing for a while?

I just checked a couple of teams. It appears that they switch to a Man to Man and Base Offense. It also appears that their lineup is based on salary, with the most expensive player starting at PG, the 2nd most at SG, 3rd at SF. 4th at PF, 5th at C.

The 7 subs are the next 7 highest salaried players. It appears that they are being substituted by the GE, probably with LCD, since having the 6th highest salary doesn't appear to give much PT.

Now I can't think of how their ratings will change, any ideas? Probably more balanced scoring but at the same time less inside defense?

It is hard to say. It looks like they have been using a lot of players - probably because of the run and gun. The bot teams that I looked at had about 8 players in decent GS, which means the other 4 in the default roster hadn't been getting in.

If my theory about salary deciding the starting lineup is right, then Beauchamp will be their starting C which is his BB best position. But he has been playing PG in the R&G, so presumably he has passing but maybe not so hot of a shot or rebounding (which given his salary seems reasonable). The highest salary player is Ludwig, who has just been getting mop up minutes and is in mediocre GS should be their starting PG. But given his lact of PT it is hard to say. They look like they'll have decent rebounding.

I think you should be OK. I think they may be so successful this season (10-1) because he is using an offense that most teams haven't dealt with, and maybe don't have the guards to defend against it, or to attack his (lack of) OD. I suspect his defense will be a lot more balanced. So I wouldn't simply look at his old ratings and run motion based on the disparity of his ID and his OD.

Too bad you aren't playing them Saturday. I'd probably play them man to man, and then go with your best offense.

I guess I will play normal offense, push the ball, just in case I would dominate out or inside (maybe both) and I will take your advise about defense :) I was gonna play 3-2 zone with their old lineup but M2M will at least give me more rebounding :)
I should win under normal conditions but uncertainty sucks lol
(although I sold 2 of my starters, I guess my squad is still capable)
