I am kinda a noob when it comes to Basketball, but I have 2 questions. The last week I have lost 2 very important matches, just due to being out rebounded, especially offensively. Is that pure a training/skill issue or can you instruct your players to be more aggresive when it comes to taking aggresive rebounds?

Secondly, I have also noticed that I miss alot off 3 pointers. If it were one or 2 players with high outside shot skill that misses the shots, I would understand. However, everyone seems to shoot from outside the box alot, and I wonder why, and even wonder more, how realistic this is. If I compare basketball to football, certain players in football would never take a penalty kick or a free kick, and you dont put a striker in the defense either, simply because they lack the skill. How come my players with very little or no outside shooting skill, keep shooting from outside the box? Is there a way you can construct players not to shoot when they dont have the skill? And if not, I hope the developers put that into the game, cause it is very frustrating to have players shoot 50 times outside the box and just hit 5 times. Seems totally unlogical to me...

Offensive rebounding is a function of the comparitive rebounding abilities of your team and your opponents. If your forwards and center are poor at rebounding - have a low skill - then your opponents players, if they are better rebounders, will get lots of offensive rebounds. So if you want to get more rebounds of any type, either train your PFs and Cs in rebounding, or buy players with better rebounding skill.

The problem with 3 point shooting is more subtle. The number of threes your team attempts is dependent on the type of offense you run: use motion or Run and Gun or Princeton, you will take lots of threes. However, the player taking the shot needs to have good jump shot and good jump range to have a chance of making the shot, and the experience to know when to take the shot or not. If you don't want your team to take three point shots, choose Look Inside or Low Post.
