Can you use a 6'2" guard with good inside skills as an SF or is he too short?
thanks

height matters only for training speed, for positions it matters completely zero.

correct.

height is already considdered in the skills...
e.g. say you have 2 guys who are equally good in rebounding each on their own, but the one is 6' and the other 7'. In buzzerbeater the 7-footer might be respectable, while the 6-footer mightl be average. The hight of the 7-footer makes him better then the other. Also if in Buzzerbeater there are 2 players who both are respectable, but 1 is shorter, this means that actually the shorter is actually better at rebounding, but the taller compensates the fact he's less good by his height.

The fact is, the skill you see in BuzzerBeater, is exact the "good"ness a player will show on the court, no matter how big he is. So both respectable rebounders short and tall, have equal chance to grab the rebound if the ball ends up between them.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

simple enough...thanks

but with regard to attributes I notice in the help forum is states that SG and SF both need similar important attributes...in fact there is no difference that I can see with the exception of SF driving is important whereas the SG driving is not important?(doesnt make sense), and that the SF needs inside skills secondarily (makes sense)

any clarification here for MOST important skills fro SG vs. SF?
thanks

i won't say that the SF needs the inside skills just secondarly ;) Maybe a SF looks like an SG with rebounding when you play 3-2* Zone + motion/run and gun ...

But if you play 2-3* + look inside your SF will look more then a PF then a SG ;)

For me a SF should have both defences, no dramatically bad Skill and at least one good side of attack(jS + JR with more focus on JS) or IS. If you play with such specialist you should have both inside and outside experts^^

A shooting guards need the top 6 Skills to get in my rooster, and a bit InsideShot when i don't play with outside focus. So in system there are differences ;)

* I'm not sure if the Sf just need one defence Skill with those Zones, it could also possibel that they just give percentual bonuses or decreased for the defence. I'm not sure which theory is right, sometimes i believe both ;)

any clarification here for MOST important skills fro SG vs. SF?

now this is a point of discussion.

What I am about to say is my opinion as a manager, and no truth from a GM!!

I believe every manager has it's own view on this, and it's not that odd either. In fact every player uses all his skills. But depending on where he plays on the field he will use some of his skills a little more often, or less often.

The diffrence between a SG and a SF is prety small in my opinion, especially if you are not that flexible, and keep them on their positions. Against an outside offense team, they both will use more or less equall skills, while against an inside offensive team, the SF will use his inside more then the SG .

For me a SG should have strong outside D, and a good range, while a SF should have strong D overall, as well inside as outside, and the jumpshot gets more important then the range...
For SG it is a little less important his inside skills are somehow less, while I value ALL skills for a SF, except maybe his blocking.
this ofcourse is very personal!!
For me: SG: jump range, outside D, jump shot
and SF: jump shot, inside D, outside D, rebounding
is what I look at first.

how much do you guys agree with this?

Skills for Each Position

Training in BB is designed to allow managers to create unique players. No skill is completely useless for any position! Here's a rough idea of skills needed for each position:

Point Guard
(1) Handling, Passing
(2) Outside Defense, Driving
(3) Jump Shot, Jump Range, Inside Shot

Shooting Guard
(1) Jump Shot, Jump Range
(2) Handling, Passing,
(3) Driving, Outside Defense, Inside Shot

Small Forward
(1) Jump Shot, Jump Range, Outside Defense
(2) Handling, Passing, Driving
(3) Inside Shot, Inside Defense
(4) Rebounding

Power Forward
(1) Inside Shot, Inside Defense
(2) Rebounds, Blocks
(3) Driving, Passing
(4) Jump Shot, Handling

Center
(1) Inside Shot, Inside Defense, Rebounds
(2) Blocks
(3) Handling, Passing

i would rate nearly every defence skill higher then Bad Larry, for me defence has first priority ;)

Driving at the PG is for me more unimportant, and IS shot is less important then Jump Shot + jumpRange even with inside focus. maybe Passing gets a bit superior over handling.

Shooting guard was ok, maybe with driving on the same level like passing and handling(that defence should have higher priority i said before ;)). The importants of jump shot and IS depends on the strategy.

Small Forward i said some posting earlierer

Power Forward, for me Jumpshot was more important then Driving, handling and passing was more similiar(they mustn't high, but just don't be atrocious till inept more i wouldn't train then)

Center would become an Sign ;)
