Your guy could had an invisible GS drop from for example a strong-high to a strong-low game shape. His DMI will drop then, even though it still shows as strong GS.

i thought that DMI (however useless it is) was still an indicator for whether someone got training.... so if GS stays the same and DMI goes up you know that some sublevels have improved... or did I just dream this up??

No that's right afaik. When the game shape stays exactly equal, even in sublevels, then you should see an increase in DMI when the player improved in sublevels.

But you will see huge fluctuations in DMI when you got high skilled players. One week they have a DMI of 500k in a high proficient form, while they have 400k DMI the other week in a low proficient game shape. A little improvement in the trained sublevel just doesn't add up to this difference.

I'm 90% sure that there are sublevels in form in HT as well.

And I'm 99% sure. But he didn't imply there weren't in general... just for the top level (in HT, excellent).

I've edited the title to make it a better description of the issue, and also to remove the word "bug" since there's really no evidence at all there is one.

This is probably better discussed in Global or even the Help forum.
