I'm new to the game, and couldn't really find an explanation as to what I am supposed to be doing in the "off-season"... I have a scrimmage set up for thursday... when does the actual season start? Is there a schedule that automatically generates from the league that I am in, or do i have to find opponents myself?

Thank you in advance for your help...

If you do not make the playoffs the game will set up a few scrimmages with teams in your league, but I think you can set up other scrimmages as well. the schedule for next season will show up when the playoffs have concluded and all of the necessary teams have been promoted and relegated.

The training week in BB runs from Saturday to Thursday, with the training update on Friday. Ordinarily, this will will be 3 games per week, league games on Saturday and Tuesday and a scrimmage (or cup game on Thursday).

The last game of the regular season was on Saturday, which was your first game for training purposes. Because you aren't in the playoffs you won't have a game on Tuesday, but you do have the scrimmage on Thursday, for a 2nd game this week.

BB will schedule a scrimmage for your team on Saturday, you will be idle again next Tuesday (Aug 5), and you will have an open scrimmage date on Thursday (Aug 7). So again you will have two games for a training week.

BB will schedule a scrimmage on Satirday (Aug 9) which is the last weekend of the playoffs. Nobody will play on the following Tuesday (Aug 12). This is when the draft results are announced and teams are re-shuffled for promotion and relegation. You will have scrimmage date on Thursday (Aug 14). This will be your 3rd week with two games.

The regular season opens on Saturday (Aug 16), the 2nd game on Tuesday (Aug 19). There will be a cup game on Thursday (Aug 21). At that time you will be back in the regular 3 game per week schedule.

Because of the limited number of games, and the fact that your team is new, I would do team stamina training for the next few weeks. Your players likely have pretty poor stamina, and they will get trained even if they don't play. You can set your lineups without having to worry about training.

You would want to build the game shape of your players (done by playing them 48-80 minutes per week) - except that game shape will be reset at the start of the season.

And you should be working on your draft list.

One other thing. You can't relegate from D.IV in the USA. So even though you were given an 8th place team, you will be in the same league next season.

title changed to off-season questions.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
