Hello, I just started a new team and played only one game before the season ended. I did one week of stamina training and every player went up.

So for a brand new team, what would be the best training regimen for the offseason? Should I work on free throws first, or stamina? My team shot poorly from the line in the game I played. Also, they played MUCH better all-around in the 2nd half (in fact they came from 20 down at the half to win - very exciting first game!) so I don't think stamina is much of a problem yet.

I plan to train inside players when the new season starts, since my original roster came with several 19-21 y/o PFs and Cs with high potential. I have a level-6 trainer.

Sounds like you've got a decent plan for your team already which is good and looking at your roster, it's the right plan to start with.

As far as stamina or free throws though, it really depends on what you think your players need most. I personally like having a team with better stamina than the other teams (took me quite a while to discover that benefit) but missing free throws is a real pain in the ass too, especially in a close game.

So personally, i'm training stamina again in this off season but everyone is different so this is one of those choices you just have to make for yourself i guess.

Just to give a different opinion I find that more PF/C get fouled than guards so i value FT on my big men... also I have 0 stamina on the majority of players.

I would look beyond your initial squad and concentrate on building the skills of the players that will ultimately help you win more matches.

To train Stamina or FT on players that are unlikely to be in your roster in 1-2 seasons seems a waste. You are however talking about the offseason and you have just started so I would say FT!

Agree with the FT.....especially as it seems that stamina is not a problem.

When I buy new players I usually look for players with decent stamina. That way I do not need to train it, and as far as it see you get it for free, as stamina is not a big impact on the price you pay.

im the opposite.. i want players with low stamina so the coach rotates them more which i find easier when juggling minutes.. my average stamina guy plays 44 ish and its a pain in the butt.....i like a nice 32-16 split or 2x24!!

Maybe a mix. You'll have three weeks, including this current week, where you only have 2 games. You might want to do stamina a week at the start of the season (this will be the 3rd week of 2 games), because your draft picks will probably have stamina comparable to your original players. If there is a big difference in stamina, it is sometime hard to get players into the game.

Thanks everyone these are very useful posts. I have become convinced that FT is more important than stamina right now, especially considering the fact that I want a good rotation and don't want anyone playing 40+ minutes.
