In the USA, it appears that the threshold for promotion from D.IV to D.III for teams that don't win their playoffs will be first place in their conference and 18 or more wins - with some 18-4 teams missing out based on PtsD. It could go to 19-3 if there are many teams with better records knocked off in the finals.

For promotion from from D.III to D.II there will be two, possibly 3 extra promotions. This will take at least 20 wins and a very good PtsD. It could easily require a 21-1 or even a 22-0 record.

For promotion from D.II to D.I a playoff win is required.

You wouldn't happen to know if +530 is a "very good PtsD", would you? I went 20-2 and was just curious if you saw a ballpark number for the cutoff.

I've actually looked into this, since I'm hoping to get promoted from III to II thru bot cleanup.

There appear to be two teams who will be demoted from II via bot cleanup.

In III, there are three teams who went undefeated (mine included). So, likely two of these three teams will be promoted by bot cleanup, unless they win their league playoffs. Since I have the best PtsD of these three teams, I expect to be promoted no matter what.

So to answer your question, unless many teams with better records than you win their leagues, you probably won't get promoted.

+529 is the best PtsD of a team with 20 wins. There are 3 teams that are 22-0 and 2 that are 21-0 that are ahead of you. 4 of those 5 won their playoff opener.

The rankings (W, won series opener; L, lost series opener; X, eliminated).

22 +478 W
22 +439 W
22 -429 L
21 +613 W
21 +349 W
20 +529 W
20 +487 W
20 +470 W
20 +404 W
20 +357 X
20 +349 X
20 +317 X

11 of the 12 have a chance to promote, either through winning their playoff or the bot cleanup of 2 teams.

Actually, the 22-win team you've ranked 3rd (my team) has a PtsD of +629, not +429, so I should be first in the rankings.

As it turned out, one team with a 17-5 record was promoted.

There were 34 teams that were both conference champions and playoff winners that promoted automatically. There were 36 conference winners who did not win the playoffs, but were promoted as part of the bot cleanup. And there were 13 teams that won their conference, but failed to promote either as the playoff winner or the bot cleanup.

In the 39 D.IV leagues that were relatively full, one of the conference winners won the playoffs in 29 leagues (74%).
