Okay...so basically, you've got six pieces of information on each player. For some players all or some of them maybe unknown.
Position:
Does anyone rank based on position as a factor -- what they're training for example? I also wonder if I rank PF's before C's and PG's before SF's if I'm going to more well rounded player?
Of course, that how I ended up with a 6'2" PF last season...
Star Rating & Grade Rating
Seems like most people use these to do most of their rankings. Especially if you don't have a lot of secondary info on most players.
Seems like Grade Rating is just a more precise version of Star Rating -- it doesn't seem to be effected by Potential (otherwise, I wouldn't have a 5 star, A+ guard with 2 potential, right?).
Potential Rating
For me, this is really an unknown. Obviously I rate the higher potential within a given rating higher.
But the big question is does a 5 potential, 4 star player get ranked above a 4 potential, 5 star player. What about a 5 potential, 3 star player?
Fortunately, I don't have a lot of those choices this year.
Age
18 is obviously better than 19 year olds, but like potential how much is an extra year worth?
Is a 5 star, 19 yo worth more than a 4 star, 18 yo? What about 5 potential, 19 yo versus a 4 potential, 18 yo?
I guess one could check the Transfer list to see valuations...but there is a lot of uncertainty here.
Box Score
This I've found very difficult to use and have used it mostly as a tie breaker. I also look at things like turnovers, foul & assists to figure if a player might have decent secondary skills...but because its one game, how much weight can you put in it?
