Check out the "Nomenclature" and "Game Engine" sections of the rules.

The skills are divided into three main categories:

There are 4 outside skills:
Jump Shot, Jump Range, Outside Defense, Handling

There are 4 inside skills:
Inside Shot, Inside Defense, Rebounding, and Shot Blocking

There are 4 skills that are universal:
Driving, Passing, Stamina, and Free Throws

In general, outside skills are more important for guards and inside skills are more important for centers and power forwards, and small forwards need everything. However, all players can benefit from every skill and part of the game is finding the right mix of players and skills to suit your style.

yes but praktically.I don't know anything about basketball, i only know you need to throw most balls in your opponents basket. I don't even knwo what positions are the defenders and what are the offense.

Is it possible to say f.e. a small forward uses as main skills driving, pâssing and outside defense for secondary skills he uses jump shot and inner defense

That way u can see what people to place in what position.

i clicked this game through the banner in Hattrick, it is a game with lots of potential but please give the players a bit more information else its only a game for die-hard basketballfans.

Also, unlike soccer, all positions play both offense and defense. That seemed like it needed to be cleared up.

Usually the Center (C) is the tallest player followed by the Power Foward (PF) -- however, I think in Buzzerbeater, you should align the skills according to the position and if the PF has a few inches on the C, its not a big deal, IMHO.

Yeah, since PFs and Cs do most of the rebounding, they should be taller guys. Of course, there's no strength rating in BB. In real life, all your guys can benefit from being strong, while there are drawbacks to being too tall (too hard to handle the ball well, for example).

But yeah, the other response is important to look at, too, because a 6'6" guy with great rebounding, inside shot, inside defense, and shot blocking should be chosen over a 7'3" guy who isn't good at those things...but the 7'3" guy will train them faster, too.
