Trying to make sense of some info I've read both in the official rules and also in some various other threads etc.

Let's say I have a 18 yo trainee (let's just say PF) and his Inside Shot, Rebounding, Shot Blocking, and Outside Defense were all "respectable", but his Inside Defense was "atrocious." If I trained Inside Defense, could I expect early on to get pops on it almost every week for the first few training levels, because it is SO low and all the other related skills are so much higher? Or does all of that not really matter, such that my training speed would be just as slow early on as it would be once his ID is "respectable" and I'm trying to get it to "strong"?

I've seen references that if you try to train one skill much HIGHER than related skills, the game slows down your training. But I couldn't find a clarification about whether the reverse is true, and training actually accelerates if one skill is much lower than related ones.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, if a skill is significantly lower than its sister skills, then it should improve faster. I dont know about a pop a week though.

I have marginal experience, so take it with a grain of salt.

I've been approaching the same way. Last week got several pops on rebounding Switched to shot blocking this week since the group I'm training is collectively weak on that. No pops.

So don't expect miracles.

I don't think it will train faster...however those other skills (the over trained ones) will train slower.

the training is accelerated, i work as scout and since this season as manager of an U21 and i like Center/powerforwards with blocking, but a lot manager don't like to train it.

Many players get pops nearly every weeks when they start to train it, some of then also with 2 position training.
