Hi guys, thanks for your help in advance.

I have a PG who has atrocious inside shot but average driving. He seemed to miss a lot of layups. So I want to train his inside shot. But on the training page, I can only train inside shot for centres and forwards. Does that mean inside shot doesn't need to be trained for guards? If I still need to train it for more successful layups, how would I go about training?

And the same goes for outside defence for PF. What if I want to improve their ball handling skills?

Thank you.

You will have to play them out of position: let your PG play on PF or C in a IS training week, and your PF at guard for some OD training.

yeah... to add to thijs his message, a prefered position for your player doesn´t mean that is indeed his best position. I use players in several positions all the time. all the players that played in the positions you are training will get pops for that specific training. They played as a C or PF in your case even although they are a G or SF. It doesn´t matter...

ps I even have heard/read in the forums that players (best) position can change during their career. I haven´t seen it happen yet, so don´t know if this is true.

indeed true. Happened several times with my players.

as for playing out of position. My center Dialectos is indeed declared a center as his best position, but I played him many many more times as SF last 2 seasons. That way his outside defense also improved a bit, which again made him better still at SF...
Ofcourse the more rounded skilled your players are, the easier it will be to let them perform good at any position other then the one they usually play. If you need to win you can play a center with decent outside defense as PF or even SF, and focus on inside attack. But if your center only has high inside skills and is very bad at oudside defense it might hurt you too much to play him at SF...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
