I have gotten a couple of invited to private leagues and i have rejected them thinking it would take me out of the league im in? and i havent been able to find anything on them? what exactly does a private league do? just give me more minutes or what?

a private league does only give you extra games in which you can play for peanuts, honor and fun. it has no effect on your training, income, injuries (if a player would get injured) etc etc etc
