I am not sure whether technically speaking it is easy to implement such a rule but...

Would it be feasible to mix conferences from time to time (meaning that one team playing for the Big 8 might be able to move to Great 8 next season...) There could be a fixed pattern for instance (ex: second and fourth seeded teams move to the other conference...)

That could be a good way (especially in top leagues where there is no way up anymore) not to be directly confronted to the same teams (ex: if one conference is much stronger than the other, the "real" final might be the conference final...)

I know that in the NBA there are rarely such "movements" but why not have it in the virtual world?

I think that BB would like rivalries to build, and making a change like this effectively would dampen thos efforts.

Does a team in the Big 8 that promotes or demotes, automatically go into the Big 8 his next series?

Or once in the Big 8, always in the Big 8?

From what has been seen in the last 2 offseasons. The promotions and demotions are pretty random. You could be demoted and promoted to anywhere as long as it is in the right direction and only one level.

For some reason, I find this amusing: (2099.2)

Simce it is possible that between 1 and 3 teams relegate from each Big 8 conference, and between 0 and 1 promote, it would be impossible to maintain conferences.

For example, relegation from D.II will involve between 4 and 12 teams from each conference, and promotion from D.III will involve between 0 and 16 teams from each conference.

If 7 Big 8 teams go up amd 11 come down, how do you decide which 4 don't? And then you have to consider whether it is important to try to do as many as possible.
