The draft order is based on wins, but the home advantage in relegation games is based on the place in your own conf (the 6th placed will always get the home advantage).

Now one of the teams in our league (2298), namely SPTS, is punished from being in the stronger conference. Even though they are going to end 7th in Big8, they'd make the playoffs in Great8. Just because of this, they won't get the home court advantage in the relegation game, but they also get lower draft position.

IMO there are two options - either keep the draft order like it is and make the home advantage in relegation game dependent on wins. Or keep the home advantage as it is and change the draft order to be firstly dependent on your place in your conference.

Now the 6th placed of our Great8 is awarded for being in the worse conf while the 7th placed of our Big8 is greatly punished for being in the stronger one.

EDIT: Also the 4th placed team of Great8 is "mildly" awarded. He will get to the playoffs and despite that will get to draft as 6th.

You don't know how often I had these thoughts in the last weeks ;) In our league(212) we have a very similar constellation. However I am not sure if it necessary to change this thing. Maybe in 2 or 3 seasons the other division is stronger again.
But for now I vote for changing it (of course because of my personal situation) ;) Even if I wont be on the 7th place at the end of the season.

I also wonder why the home court advantage for finals (wins and points difference) is decided differently than for the relegation game.

Nah, you should be able to tank into a desired draft position if you choose so. Draft order is ok. How would the weaker conference could get stronget then btw?

Home court advantage maybe. No big deal.

I think the teams in the relegation zone should be seeded by record, 1-4 and play that way no matter what the division.
