I had an idea today while thinking about BB instead of concentrating on my job.......

One of the problems I read much about is new teams coming and going quickly in the lower divisions. I have seen the same franchise have 3 different names this season. Many new players log on once and never again. Having lots of experience in sports management games and online games in general, I was a bit overwhelmed myself at first. The depth of this game is one of the things that make this game so great, but also a bit intimidating for the brand new player, especially if he hasnt played a game like HT or something similar.

I propose a very basic "Getting Started" post to be placed as a sticky in each series forum. Something that gives brand new players a place to start and a rough idea of what to do first. Several of the very active users in my series respond daily to BB-mail or series forum posts, but I have never seen them post in the other forums. I dove into the help and global-english and suggestions forum right away to help figure it out, but a couple of my series mates (so I assume some new players as well) dont really get that far, at least at first. Perhaps this will lead more brand new players to begin to get involved, and therefore become obsessed like me (and you?) with BB. One of the very first things I did the first time I logged on was to look in my series forum. I think this would help.

My league forum is basically dead. I hope that changes when/if I promote.

Mine was too, but I noticed several guys were very active in my series by thier log-ons. I just started posting in the forum and they started responding. Our forum is much more active, and the other guys are initiating it as well. I think alot of people think no one is listening, when really it's that no one is talking :)

I think the post by GM-Redonkulous in the help forum about new players start here first would be perfect for the series forum sticky. That way a new player has more than one way to find this info.

Edit: fix the name butchering

Bummer, hopefully it gets better whan you promote. More active involved players perhaps.
