How is the promotion done to replace bot teams?

So are these replacements league specific? So, say, if there are 20 Division 3 bot teams, will the best 20 non-champions teams from Division 4 promote? Or does it work where if there are 3 bots in division 3 league 1, then there will be 3 promotions from the D 4 leagues that feed into that league?

And will active managers that lose relegation matchups still be relegated regardless of the bot situation?

Thanks for the responses.

What I am getting at in the first one is basically whether I am fighting for those bot replacement spots with the other teams in my 4-league segment, or am I fighting with teams all across Division 4. Or maybe I misunderstand and promotion is not done the same as in other manager games, where D. IV leagues 1-4 feed into D. III league 1, and so on?

If there are no teams with human manager at lower levels at all at the time of new season update no relegation takes place (or it does but they end where they have been). Last season it went exactly this way.

Normally relegation and promotion takes place at first and then the bot clean up.

i think this will help.
so we can say that getting promoted based on bot cleanup needs to win ur conference in regular season and higher W/L percentage.

Not sure if it was already answered but this is how it works for teams replacing bots:
1) Division final losers (that are not bots of course)
2) Losses in regular seasons
3) Not sure but almost sure aggregate in regular season
4) Conference final losers. Pretty unlikely that this is needed

So even if you finish with 22-0 you will not replace a bot if you lose too early in playoff. If you lose in division final (playoff final) your chances of promotion is very good as possibly there are no other with perfect record in your division and there most likely is at least one team removed as bot in higher divisions. If you are in second highest division there is probably few times there are teams removed from highest division ...

did that change in one of the last seasons?

when i promote to div one, the team with the best bilance promotes with me(i beat then in the semi final), and not the one i beat in the final. I did not hear that tey change that, but i even don't look after it.
