I have understood that although you play a certain offensive tactic, if it is impossible to create scoring chances this way, the team will try to ''act on it's own'' on the field to get better/more shots.
Another factor that is similar to this - I find - is the amount of scoring attempts taken by a player. If he's ''on fire'', he will shoot more often. But how does the game engine recognize a player, who is on fire? I mean, in a few of my games my SG has taken a huge amount of the shot I have had, and his scoring percentage has been quite awful (13-33 and 17-47 on 2FG, 3-15 and 6-22). Why does he keep shooting when his scoring sucks so bad? He can't be the one on fire, obviously.
I'd like to know a little bit more specifically who takes a shot, why and when (if this info is available).
