Pciked #2 overall in last year's draft, Martin Medrano has become the pride of Tijuana, winning the MVP unanimously and leading the team up a division. Is he good enough yet to be on the U21 team?

As the outgoing U21 coach, I'd say he's quite a bit off. As a SG, he prob needs 2-3 more JS pops, 2 JR pops, at least 3 OD pops. But, he's 20 and has great potential, so if he can get these pops he has a shot next season.

Of course, if he progressing really well whoever is coaching might give him an early shot.

Plus, as we all know, tiebreak goes to the beard. I wouldn't count Medrano (6627366) out.

I'd say he's certainly on the radar, but is unlikely to get a shot this season--there's too many good 21 year olds, and he's not dominant enough among the 20 yo class to break in (for comparison, 20 year old SG Ricardo Madrid (5655072) has a salary of 27k--vs 11k for Medrano--and is probably the only 20yo SG that will see serious minutes this season). If he gets great training this year though I'd say he has a shot in his age 21 season.

You gotta love those chops too...he's my main training focus along with my PG, the rest of the team is basically ignored.
