Ok, I posted this on the help forum too and didnt get an answer. So i am trying my luck here.
For the last 4 seasons I have always managed to get my guards the max amount off minutes for training. The way how I achieved this was simple. I selected no back up or reserve for either off the guard positions and just 1 back up for the other 3 positons. For every match i select 8 players and every match i just have 1 PG and 1 SG. I realised that this would cost me during games, but since I prefer a long term strategy I dont mind. Off course I needed to use strictly follow depth chart or else the coach would make a mess off it.
This has worked for 4 seasons perfectly until this season. The first game I noticed something was different was last week saturday. I had done the same thing, as I always do, and put a 9th player a small forward as reserve. It was a walk over and therefore I though either I hade made a misstake and not used strictly follow depth chart, the player got injured during playing or the extra player made the difference, because this reserve small forward played the last quarter instead off my guard. Let me emphasise again this has never happened before and the guard wasnt injured either...
So during the scrimmage from thursday i did the same thing again but left the 9th player out. used strictly follow depth chart selected only 1 PG and 1 SG and to my big suprise, (this game was never more than 20 points difference at any one time)... all my backups got minutes on the guard position.
It cant be that something that a tactic worked 4 seasons in a row, no longer works. This must either be a change that was implemented and not announced, which I cant imagine, or this must have been a bug what happened the last 2 matches. I hope someone can look into this for me and tell me which one off either scenarios is the case. I would like to know so I can anticipate on what to do next. Strictly following depth chart, clearly no longer works the way it used to work....
Looking forward to an answer
