Everything I need is on the side out and NOT blocking my view of player stats or the game viewer. I'd love to just purge this thing all together. Is there a way I can adjust a setting not to minimize it, but to make it go away permanently?

I can't even minimise it (I'm using Opera). Think yourself lucky, it is the single most annoying thing I've ever seen in any online game.

I don't mind it - it only gets in the way on one occasion with how I have my lovely big excel sheet where I do magick calculations and copy over ratings from previous games.

Actually, I'd forgotten it minimises ;D

it is the single most annoying thing I've ever seen in any online game.

I actually use it a quite bit myself although I wouldn't mind losing it. However, it was pretty important for me to get started in the game since it was the only way I could navigate when I started. The menu system on the left hand side did not have any links on Safari. Fortunately it works on Safari 3.
