I have a player who isn't consistent at all!
One game, he can have 30 pts, the next, he can finish with 3-14
from the field. (my style of play is usually push the ball, and I play him
at PG or SG)
What can I train to improve that? driving? inside shot?

Jump Shot: wondrous Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: strong ↑ Handling: awful
Driving: average Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: inept
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: strong Free Throw: atrocious

Just a thought, Fred, but I would think that you need to train outside shot a little. He's pretty unbalanced: wondrous JS is so much higher than mediocre JR...

Well, he will make more 3pt shots, but he is still going to be shut down and be very inconsistent.

I would like a way for him to make his shots on most nights so I can count on him.

Yeah, he is very unbalanced, I just got all exited when I saw him in the Transfer list, but I guess ''spiked'' players don't work as well as I thought they would.:)

Fred—I certainly wasn't trying to imply that he wasn't valuable for you. I was simply thinking that he could use some more range. Since I (we) don't know his other skills, it isn't fair to label him untalented. Good luck with your training...Pappy

I don't need to get advices from nOObs and your advice it is not that good really. Outside shooting training is not a good option usually.

Frankly speaking, yours is not much better really. Either way, being hostile to other users is not necessary.

depending how you train your players ;)

I liked outside shooting training, but i usually make it one Position on two positions you are often right.

I'm doing fine for my expectations:) I was referring to not reply to me thing - he should answer to the original asker not me - it is just that people forgetting this to often today.

I think it is not that effective. It is one of the slower trainings, even the secondaries are not that that speedy and more importantly you can live with it. If you get a prospect with respectable jump range great, but I wouldn't bother to train it up if he has lower level of the skill. There are other skills good to train so you can live with just secondaries from jump shot training. Of course if you want to build a Sonics like team (the one with Radamnovic, Allen, Lewis,...) you would need it. I guess it is not a secret as anyone can see from my team stats that I'm not going that way. Well, you don't have to score a single trey to win a game:)

On the other hand I think you guys are underestimating Handling a bit. For both guard posts mainly PG of course.
