Would someone like to explain to me how I lost my cup game yesterday to a bot two levels under me, when I dominated every aspect of the game?

Random factor.

The better team wont win every time. Otherwise, this would be a boring game.

I'm not complaining about losing to a worse team - that's realism.

I'm complaining about dominating the game on every level and STILL losing, even though the bot team is two levels below me, has a terrible team, and was outplayed in every facet.

My matchup ratings were between twenty and *fifty* points higher at EVERY position. My team ratings were a full level higher at EVERY position. Based on performance in the game it should have been a blowout.

This is like the Celtics losing a tight game to a high school team, even though in the GAME they played like the Celtics and the high school team played like a high school team.

This isn't a 'random factor', this is ridiculous.

It most certainly is a random factor.

A much stronger team can still lose to a worse team, even though every indication is that it should be a blowout.

Ask the 1980 USSR Olympic hockey team about it.

It's absolutely ridiculous - I've lost games I should have won before and shrugged them off as chance or bad luck or whatnot.

But even WITHIN this game the my ratings dominated, and I still lost.

That's not randomness, it's a bad algorithm. And it definitely deflates my interest in this game...if there's is an utter lack of realism to the game, what is the point of playing?? So that bottom level bots can win the cup based on intentionally programmed randomness to purposely create tension and pseudo-excitement even though it contradicts any shred of realism the matchup might have had?

Upsets happen - but junior hockey teams don't win the Stanley Cup, just as Darlington won't be winning the FA cup any time soon, and any NBA team would thrash the high school level national champions...

Well, for me a % of random in the game is acceptable maybe I will check a little bit how much a victory can change the income of the merchandising because a defeat due to the random is not only a defeat but it means also money.

My 2 cents only to say that "I love this game"

That's fine and all, but you're not a top level team, either.

It's not absurd to believe that a 4th division team can beat a 2nd division team.

In fact, I am a top division team and I lost to a 4th division team in the 1st round, and it's just a fact of life.

Your kinda mistaking the divisions of the game at this point.
There is no real difference between a div.6 or a div.1 team.. The real difference between divisions has not been defined yet, for the game is still 3 seasons young.
Every new team gets roughly the same amount of skilled players, even if you have bene put in div 1 or div 5.

You had a higher matchup rating on each position but the other team had more attempts mainly because you had much more turnovers. You can only assume that you get an advantage on matchup ratings there if you have equal shot attempts.

You had 2 more FGs but he had 5 more 3 pointers. equal FTs, rebs, assts..

That equals a 1 point win..

I emphatize with you.. had my share of tough losses but you're still 3rd place. its not the end of the world.
